Mary Iacovone (Mosaic Mary)

Mosaics by Mary: (Original Glass & Tile Mosaic Artwork)

About Mary: Being lovingly known as Mosaic Mary by her peers and clients, Mary Iacovone gives credit to her husband Bill for showing her how to make her first mosaic and has been making mosaics ever since she got the creative bug! Mosaic Mary is a longstanding member of the Arts Community of Easton and is very active in her volunteering efforts along with her husband, Bill, former owner of “Clayworks” in Easton. Mary has been teaching the art of Mosaics to Children and Adults since 2001 in Easton, Pennsylvania. She has welcomed students of all ages into her studio previously located in the Masonic Building at 22 S. Third Street for many years. Now, Mary is at smARTivities and all set for having classes in her new studio such as: Children’s play dates, Adult get togethers, private or group sessions, and Kid’s Birthday parties! Mary can be seen in her studio regularly on the weekend and has classes scheduled weekly.

Bonnie Winfield, PhD

The Journey Home: (Art Therapy)

About Dr. Bonnie: Founder and Facilitator of “The Journey Home”; Dr. Bonnie has developed a community art studio that offers creative experiences in the form of workshops, open studio, and expressive arts facilitation for individuals and groups. Her mission is to provide a creative, open space for the creative spirit to thrive. Her program “The Journey Home” has helped hundreds of women regain the tools they need to return home to their families through artistic therapies. An Experienced Social Entrepreneur with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry, Bonnie is skilled in Expressive Arts Therapy, Restorative Practice and Facilitation, Trauma Informed Care, Prison Re-entry, and Nonprofit Organizations. Bonnie has proven to be a strong professional with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) focused in Peace Studies and Women’s Studies from Syracuse University. Dr. Bonnie can be found in her studio at SmARTivities or at many other locations where she attends meetings, socials, and gives lectures and talks around the local area.

James Kassanoff

J.S. Kassanoff Gem & Jewel Consultants: (Fine Jewelry, Silversmith, Repairs, Appraisals)

About James: After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 1989 with a concentration in sculpture, Jim continued his education by working toward his mastery of the jewelers arts as well as expertise and certification within the gemological sciences. Jim earned several degrees (G.J.G. / G.I.A.) from the prestigious and authoritative Gemological Institute of America in California in 1992. James says, “We’re here to help alleviate the stressors and legwork you might face as you acquire gems & jewelry so that you are free to enjoy special moments that accompany them!” James beautifully handcrafted jewelry pieces are on display and may be purchased in our shop. He currently sees clients only by appointment.

Grace Ehlers

Cards by Grace: (Original paintings, note cards, prints, and floral collage artwork)

About Grace: See artwork blooming before your eyes in Grace’s beautiful collection. It all started when Grace took an art class where her teacher blindfolded her and told her to paint. Grace did just that and fell in love with painting thereafter. She then incorporated her love of flowers into her paintings and the metamorphosis began. Her original artwork tells a unique story of her journey through creativity which includes floral prints, acrylic paintings, collage, and note cards.

April Khalil

April Khalil Artistry: (Mixed Media, Custom Personalized Artwork, Murals, Poetry, Face Painting, Henna, Arts & Crafts Instruction)

About April: Since childhood, April had a dream to become an Artist. Growing up while participating in her family’s arts & crafts business gave her the opportunity to be creative and develop her artistic skills. Traveling the East Coast of the United States for over 10 years doing professional arts & crafts shows in shopping malls, convention centers, and county fairs was just the beginning of her artistic journey. April has since brought happiness to others through her creative and personalized touches in her work for over 35 years. Hand-painting on just about anything, and handcrafting designs in various mediums, she has developed her talents to suit the needs of others by making special and memorable keepsakes for all ages. Serving the public as well as business clients has given April the opportunity to showcase customized her mural artwork in private homes, retail stores, and restaurants. Providing various party entertaining services allows April to bring joy through her artistry and celebrate creativity at children’s birthday parties and special events! Having a true love of sharing ideas and creativity with students gives April the opportunity to teach with an open mind and share her talents and knowledge in classes for all ages and abilities. She is currently instructing enrichment classes at Northampton Community College as well as private classes in various locations in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas. She is a member of ACE Arts Community of Easton and Founder of SmARTivities Showcase Arts Center. April aspires to do great things while helping inspire others through the arts.
